Poems allow us to put feelings and experiences into words. This class will look at how we can use poetry to express ourselves in a safe way. The different ways to write poems, the tools I use to help me when writing a poem, the different types of figurative language you can use to express yourself.
Having mental illnesses and chronic conditions are so isolating, it is too hard to explain to people. Even the most well intentioned of people can misunderstand us.
I know writing poetry helped me to deal with all the emotions and symptoms by allowing me to flow, to release, to express and to heal.
